Biography
Ian Pringle is an Australian film director, producer and screenwriter. He began making films in 1978 and directed his first feature, The Plains of Heaven, in 1982.
His subsequent features include Wrong World (1985), which was nominated for the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival, The Prisoner of St. Petersburg (1989), screened in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes, and Isabelle Eberhardt (1991). He co-produced the 1992 film Romper Stomper.
Pringle returned to directing with The Legend Maker (2014), which premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival. He has also worked as a script consultant and lecturer.
