Biography
Ika Nord is a Swedish actress and mime artist. Born Ulrika Christina Elisabeth Nord on 29 April 1960 in Halmstad, she trained in classical ballet locally before studying mime, dance and theatre in Paris at the Conservatoire National de l’Art du Mime, the École de Mime Étienne Decroux and other institutions.
She is best known in Sweden for her children's television work, including the series Ika i rutan (1988) and Ikas TV-kalas (1990), and for playing Findus in the 1993 series Tomtemaskinen, for which she received the Swedish Theatre Critics' award for children's and youth theatre. Internationally she is recognised for the role of Virginia in the film Let the Right One In (2008). Nord has also worked as a director, choreographer and performer in theatre and street theatre.
