Biography
In-sook Chappell is a British playwright, screenwriter and former actor of Korean descent. Born in South Korea and raised in England, she studied dance at the Alvin Ailey School in New York before beginning her career in acting.
She appeared in small roles in films including Spy Game (2001), The Life and Death of Peter Sellers (2004) and The Broken (2008). Chappell began writing plays between acting jobs; her debut This Isn't Romance won the Verity Bargate Award and was staged at the Soho Theatre. She has since written for television, contributing episodes to the historical drama series A Thousand Blows (2025).
