Biography

Iris Ng is a Canadian cinematographer, primarily known for her work on documentary films. She holds a BFA in Film Production from York University and began her career with short films before her first feature-length project, My Toxic Baby (2009), directed by Min Sook Lee.

She gained wider recognition for her cinematography on Sarah Polley’s Stories We Tell (2012). Her subsequent credits include Shirkers (2018), the Netflix series Making a Murderer (2015–2018), Twice Colonized (2023), and the series Strays (2021–2022). Ng has also worked on scripted series such as Kim’s Convenience and artist-driven films.

She is a founding member of the Documentary Cinematographers Alliance and has served on committees focused on equity and mentorship in the Canadian film industry.
