Biography
Isaac Aptaker is an American television and film writer and producer. He is best known for his work as a writer and co-showrunner, alongside Elizabeth Berger and Dan Fogelman, on the NBC series This Is Us (2016–2022).
Aptaker was born in Arlington, Massachusetts. He studied screenwriting at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he met Berger; the pair have written as a team since around 2005. Their credits include the series The Neighbors (2012) and Grandfathered (2015), the screenplay for the film Love, Simon (2018), and the series Love, Victor (2020) and How I Met Your Father (2022). They also wrote the screenplay for I Want You Back (2022). Aptaker has received Primetime Emmy nominations for his work on This Is Us.
