Biography
Isabelle Nanty is a French actress, film and theatre director, and screenwriter. She was born on 21 January 1962 in Verdun, Meuse, France. She taught for several years at the Cours Florent in Paris and began her career in theatre before appearing in films from the early 1980s.
Nanty received a César Award nomination for Most Promising Actress for her role in Tatie Danielle (1990). She is known for playing Georgette in Amélie (2001), for which she was nominated for the César Award for Best Supporting Actress, as well as Fabienne Morlot in The Visitors (1993) and Itinéris in Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra (2002). She has also starred in the Tuche film series (2011–) as Cathy Tuche and in Serial Teachers (2013) and its sequel (2015) as Gladys.
Nanty has directed and written for film and theatre. In 2004 she adopted a daughter, Tallulah. She is the cousin of actor Kristofer Hivju.
