Biography
Isabelle Weingarten (18 April 1950 – 3 August 2020) was a French actress, model and photographer. Born in the 16th arrondissement of Paris into a family of artists, she began her career as a model before being discovered by Robert Bresson, who cast her as Marthe in Four Nights of a Dreamer (1971).
She appeared as Gilberte in Jean Eustache’s The Mother and the Whore (1973) and as Anna in Wim Wenders’ The State of Things (1982). Weingarten later worked primarily as a still photographer on numerous films, including several directed by Olivier Assayas. She was married to Wim Wenders and to Assayas.
