Biography
Ivan Bobrov (Иван Васильевич Бобров) was a Soviet actor. Born on 7 February 1904 in Moscow, he died there on 12 April 1952. He made his screen debut in 1925 as the young sailor flogged while sleeping in Sergei Eisenstein’s Battleship Potemkin.
He appeared in numerous Soviet films through the 1920s to the early 1950s, including the role of a young prisoner in Vsevolod Pudovkin’s Mother (1926) and later parts in Kashchei the Immortal (1945) and Nezabyvaemyy 1919 god (1951). Before and alongside his film career he worked in transport, served in the OGPU, instructed in boxing and performed with the State Theatre of Film Actors from the mid-1940s.
