Biography
Ivan Linow (born Jānis Linaus; also credited as Jack Linow) was a Latvian-born American professional wrestler and character actor. He began wrestling in the United States in 1918 and entered films in the early 1920s, appearing in more than forty supporting and bit parts through the silent and early sound eras while continuing his wrestling career until 1931.
His film credits include In Old Arizona (1928) as a Russian Immigrant (uncredited), The Red Dance (1928) as Ivan Petroff, City Girl (1930) as a taxi driver (uncredited), The Miracle Woman (1931) as Gunboat (uncredited), Jewel Robbery (1932) as a chauffeur (uncredited), and The Scarlet Empress (1934) as an imperial guardsman (uncredited). He died in London on 21 November 1940.
