Biography
J.A.Q., also credited as Jeffrey 'JQ' Qaiyum or Jeffery Ameen Qaiyum, is an American actor and composer born on 8 November 1974 in Chicago, Illinois. He is a founding member of the Q Brothers with his brother GQ. With GQ he co-created, co-directed, composed and starred in hip-hop adaptations of Shakespeare plays including Othello: The Remix and A Q Brothers Christmas Carol, as well as Funk It Up About Nothin'. He made his Off-Broadway debut as DJ and composer for The Bomb-itty of Errors.
As an actor he appeared in Boston Public (2003) as Sam Gough / The Beat Boxer and in Whirlygirl (2006) as Raoul. He has also voiced characters in video games including the Saints Row series. As a composer he created the score for the FX series The Bear (2022–), Scratch & Burn (2002) and his brother's film Just Another Story (2003).
