Biography
J. R. Villarreal is a Mexican-American actor, producer and second-unit director. Born on 28 September 1992 in Houston, Texas, he began acting as a child and made his screen debut in an episode of the crime drama series Without a Trace (2002).
He is known for his early film role as Javier in Akeelah and the Bee (2006). Subsequent television credits include guest appearances in House (2004), Ghost Whisperer (2005) and CSI: Miami (2002), as well as recurring roles in Ultra Violet & Black Scorpion (2022), Freeridge (2023) and Landman (2024). In 2026 he joined the cast of the Yellowstone spin-off series Dutton Ranch as Azul.
