Biography
Jack Ashton is a British actor. He trained at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in London after studying performing arts at Filton College, and has worked in theatre, television, film and radio.
Ashton is best known for playing Reverend Tom Hereward in the BBC series Call the Midwife (2014–2018). His other television credits include Waterloo Road (2023) as Lenny Sampson, Broadchurch (2013) as Kevin Green, McDonald & Dodds (2020) as Jack Valentine, The Chelsea Detective (2022) as Toby Hansard, Professor T (2021) as Adam Bernard, and Lockerbie: A Search for Truth (2025) as Jonathan Dobson. Film roles include the lead in Instrument of War (2017) and Eddy's Dad in Bad Apples (2026).
On stage, he appeared in a Donmar Warehouse production of A Streetcar Named Desire (2009) and toured in Strangers on a Train (2018).
