Biography

Jack Greenhalgh was an American cinematographer. Born on 23 July 1904 in New York City, he died on 3 September 1971 in North Hollywood, California. He began his career as an assistant camera operator in the late 1920s and worked as a cinematographer from 1926 until 1953.

Greenhalgh shot more than 200 films, many of them low-budget B-movies produced by the Producers Releasing Corporation and directed by Sam Newfield. His credits include westerns and horror films such as Reefer Madness (1936), Hitler's Madman (1943), Gangster's Den (1945) and Too Many Winners (1947). He also worked on Tell Your Children (1938) and The Lost Continent (1951).

His final feature credit was as director of photography on the science-fiction film Robot Monster (1953). He contributed to television series including The Adventures of Kit Carson (1951) and This Is the Life (1952–1953).
