Biography
Jack Laird (1923–1991) was an American screenwriter, producer, director and actor. He began his career as a child actor before moving into writing for television in the late 1940s and 1950s, contributing episodes to series including Have Gun – Will Travel and My Three Sons.
In the 1960s he worked as a writer and story editor on the medical drama Ben Casey, later serving as associate producer. He received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing Achievement in Drama for the series in 1962. During the 1970s he was a writer, director, producer and occasional actor on the anthology series Night Gallery, and wrote numerous episodes and served as supervising producer on Kojak (1973–77). He earned two further Emmy nominations for his work on Night Gallery and Kojak.
