Biography
Jacques Boudet (1935–2024) was a French actor who worked extensively in theatre, film and television. He began his stage career in the early 1960s after university theatre, taking part in the decentralisation of French theatre and appearing at the Avignon Festival.
He became known for supporting roles in cinema, notably as the pharmacist in Luc Besson’s Nikita (1990) and the Duke de Guermantes in Volker Schlöndorff’s Un amour de Swann (1984). Boudet had a long collaboration with director Robert Guédiguian, appearing in more than a dozen of his films, and played recurring characters in the series Plus belle la vie. He also portrayed Charles de Gaulle in season two of The Crown (2016).
Boudet died at his home in Montpellier on 15 July 2024.
