Biography
Jacques d'Ovidio was a French production designer and set decorator for film and theatre. Born on 15 March 1921 in Philippeville (now Skikda, Algeria), he trained at the Institut des hautes études cinématographiques and began working in the film industry in the 1950s.
He is credited as production designer on Z (1969), French Fried Vacation (1978), French Fried Vacation 2 (1979), State of Siege (1972) and The Beast (1975), among many other films. He also worked as set decorator on Crooks in Clover (1963) and Very Happy Alexander (1968). In theatre he designed sets for several productions by Robert Hossein, including L'Affaire du courrier de Lyon (1987).
D'Ovidio died on 7 January 1997 in Créteil, France.
