Biography
Jacques Herlin (17 August 1927 – 7 June 2014) was a French character actor of stage, film and television. Born Jacques de Jouette in Le Vésinet, he studied dramatic art in Paris after moving from Toulon and began working on stage in the early 1950s.
He appeared in films from the early 1960s and spent many years working in Italian cinema before returning to France. Herlin took supporting roles in more than a hundred productions, including Of Gods and Men (2010) as Amédée, A Good Year (2006) as Papa Duflot, The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (1999) as the priest of Orleans, Asterix & Obelix: God Save Britannia (2012) as Triple-Patte and Farewell, My Queen (2012) as the Marquis de Vaucouleurs. He remained active until his death in Paris.
