Biography
Jacques Lagrange (1917–1995) was a French painter, engraver and screenwriter. He trained at the École nationale des arts décoratifs and the École des beaux-arts in Paris.
He is best known for his long collaboration with director Jacques Tati, contributing to the screenplays of Monsieur Hulot's Holiday (1953), Mon Oncle (1958), PlayTime (1967) and Trafic (1971), as well as set design on several of the films. He also created theatre designs, including for Jean Vilar, and produced large-scale public artworks.
