Biography
Jacques Lemare (1912–1988) was a French cinematographer and camera operator. Born Gaston Auguste Jacques Lemare in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, he began his career in the late 1930s as a camera operator on several films, including Jean Renoir’s The Rules of the Game (1939).
He later worked as director of photography on numerous French feature films and television productions from the 1940s to the 1960s. Among his credits are 125 rue Montmartre (1959) and The Hands of Orlac (1960). He was married to Gilberte Emma Darricades.
