Biography
Jacques Marin (9 September 1919 – 10 January 2001) was a French actor. He trained at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique in Paris and made his feature film debut in Forbidden Games (1952).
Marin appeared in numerous French and international productions. He is known for roles including Inspector Edouard Grandpierre in Charade (1963), Jacques in The Train (1964), the Chief Guard in How to Steal a Million (1966), LeClerc in Marathon Man (1976), and Inspector Bouchet in Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo (1977). His fluency in English enabled work across American, British and Disney films.
He performed regularly on stage, including at the Théâtre Marigny in Paris and the Célestins in Lyon, and appeared alongside Jean Gabin in several films.
