Biography
Jacques Toulemonde Vidal is a Colombian writer and director. Born in Bogotá to a French-Colombian family, he studied literature at the Sorbonne in Paris. Between 2003 and 2012 he worked as an assistant director on several Colombian feature films.
He wrote and directed the short film Un juego de niños (2010), which screened at more than thirty festivals and won over ten international awards. His feature debut Anna (2015), a road movie shot between France and Colombia, received three Macondo awards from the Colombian Film Academy, including best screenplay. He co-wrote the screenplay for Ciro Guerra’s Embrace of the Serpent (2015) and contributed the story and screenplay for Birds of Passage (2018). He has since directed episodes of the Netflix series Green Frontier (2019) and the feature Crime Diaries: The Celebrity Stylist (2023).
