Biography

Jakob Ihre is a Swedish cinematographer. He trained at the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield, England, and is a member of the Swedish Society of Cinematographers (FSF).

He is known for his collaborations with director Joachim Trier on films including Reprise (2006), Oslo, August 31st (2011), Louder Than Bombs (2015) and Thelma (2017). Other credits include The End of the Tour (2015), Lola Versus (2012), NOKAS (2010) and Spaceman (2024). On television he served as cinematographer for the HBO miniseries Chernobyl (2019).

Ihre won a Primetime Emmy Award, a BAFTA and a British Society of Cinematographers award for his work on Chernobyl. He has also received the NFTS Sue Gibson Cinematography Award.
