Biography
James Grover Franciscus was an American actor. Born on 31 January 1934 in Clayton, Missouri, he graduated magna cum laude from Yale University in 1957 with a degree in English and theatre arts.
Franciscus appeared in feature films and several television series. He is known for his role as Brent in Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970), as well as starring roles in the series Mr. Novak (1963–65), The Naked City, The Investigators and Longstreet (1971–72). He also appeared in The Twilight Zone, The Cat o' Nine Tails (1971) and Marooned (1969).
Franciscus was married to Kathleen Wellman, daughter of director William A. Wellman. He died on 8 July 1991 in North Hollywood, California.
