Biography
James Gaylyn is an American actor and musician based in New Zealand. Born on 9 January 1954 in Louisville, Kentucky, he moved to New Zealand in 1981 with his New Zealand-born wife. Prior to acting he worked as a blues singer and drummer, releasing albums and touring in New Zealand and Australia; he played drums on the OMC track "How Bizarre".
Gaylyn began acting in the late 1990s and is known for recurring roles in the Power Rangers franchise, including Colonel Mason Truman in Power Rangers RPM and voice work such as Zeltrax in Power Rangers Dino Thunder. His film credits include Principal Turner in Bridge to Terabithia (2007), an operations centre staff member in Avatar (2009), David E. Jordan in The Meg (2018), and Sheriff Dentler in X (2022). He has also appeared in series such as Sweet Tooth and Ash vs Evil Dead.
