Biography
James Gray is an American film director, screenwriter and producer. He was born in New York City on 14 April 1969 and studied at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. His feature debut was the crime drama Little Odessa (1994).
Gray's subsequent films include We Own the Night (2007), Two Lovers (2008), The Immigrant (2013), The Lost City of Z (2016), Ad Astra (2019), for which he is also credited as producer and co-writer, and Armageddon Time (2022). Five of his features have competed for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
