Biography
James Hayden was an American actor. He was born on 25 November 1953 in Brooklyn, New York, and died on 8 November 1983 in New York City.
Hayden served as a medic in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his discharge he attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and began his acting career. He appeared in films including Cruising (1980), The First Deadly Sin (1980) and The Nesting (1981).
On stage he performed in the Broadway revivals of A View from the Bridge (1983) and American Buffalo (1983), the latter alongside Al Pacino. His best-known screen role, as Patrick 'Patsy' Goldberg in Once Upon a Time in America (1984), was released after his death.
