Biography
James Hendrie is an English writer, producer and director, known primarily for his work in television comedy. He has contributed scripts to series including My Family (2000–2005), After You've Gone (2007–2008), Murder Most Horrid (1991–1994) and Spitting Image, and has also served as script editor and producer on several programmes.
Hendrie wrote and directed the 1989 short film Work Experience, which won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film. He has collaborated with writer Ian Brown since 1982 and wrote the Red Dwarf episode Nanarchy (1997). He trained at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and began his career in radio and sketch shows such as Carrott's Lib and Three of a Kind.
