Biography
James Payne is a British screenwriter and producer. He has written episodes of numerous British television series, including one episode of Ashes to Ashes (2010), one episode of Hustle (2011), two episodes of Death in Paradise (2011–2013) and two episodes of Mr Selfridge (2015–2016).
Payne has co-created and written By Any Means (2013) and Hooten & the Lady (2016). He created, wrote and executive produced the international series The Window (2022). He has also been a core writer on EastEnders, contributing dozens of episodes since 2002, including the 30th anniversary live episode.
His credits include episodes of Strike Back, The Musketeers and Moving Wallpaper. Work on EastEnders and other series has been associated with BAFTA and other awards.
