Biography
Jan Bijvoet is a Flemish actor born on 28 December 1966 in Antwerp, Belgium. He trained at the Studio Herman Teirlinck and began his professional career in theatre in 1991 with NTGent. He later worked with companies including Toneelgroep Ceremonia, Toneelhuis and, from 2005, as one of the artistic leaders of Theater Zuidpool.
On screen he is known for roles including Koen in The Broken Circle Breakdown (2012), Camiel Borgman in Borgman (2013), Stef in The Ardennes (2015) and Theodor Koch-Grunberg in Embrace of the Serpent (2015). He has also appeared in the television series Peaky Blinders (2013) and Into the Night (2020).
