Biography
Jana Schmieding is a Native American comedian, actor, writer and podcaster of Cheyenne River Lakota (Mniconjou and Sicangu) descent. She is known for playing Bev in the series Reservation Dogs (2021–2023) and for starring as Reagan Wells, which she also wrote for, in the sitcom Rutherford Falls (2021–2022).
She grew up in Canby, Oregon, graduated from the University of Oregon in 2005 with a degree in theatre arts, and holds a master’s in teaching from Mercy College. Schmieding taught in New York City schools for a decade while performing improv and sketch comedy, before moving to Los Angeles. She has hosted the podcast Woman of Size and co-hosts Sage-Based Wisdom.
