Biography
Jane Scott is a British-born Australian film producer. She began her career in magazine journalism in the UK before working for three years as a production coordinator at the British Film Institute Production Board. In 1972 she first worked on Australian productions, setting up The Adventures of Barry McKenzie in London with director Bruce Beresford, and she relocated permanently to Australia the following year.
Over a career spanning more than three decades she has served as producer or associate producer on numerous features and television productions. Her credits include associate producer on My Brilliant Career (1979), line producer on Crocodile Dundee (1986), producer on Crocodile Dundee II (1988), line producer on Strictly Ballroom (1992), producer on The Tommyknockers (1993), producer on Shine (1996), producer on Head On (1998) and producer on Mao’s Last Dancer (2009).
Scott was nominated for an Academy Award, a Golden Globe and a BAFTA for her work as producer of Shine.
