Biography
Jang Young-gyu is a South Korean composer and music director. Born in 1968, he began working in film in the late 1990s on Jang Sun-woo's Timeless, Bottomless and has since contributed to more than sixty feature films.
He is credited as composer on Train to Busan (2016), The Wailing (2016), Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002), A Bittersweet Life (2005), The Good, the Bad, the Weird (2008), The Yellow Sea (2010), Alienoid (2022) and Alienoid: Return to the Future (2024). He has also worked on Seoul Station (2016) and the Star Wars: Visions episode "Journey to the Dark Head" (2021).
Jang frequently collaborates with composer Dalpalan and has received three wins and sixteen nominations for his film scores.
