Biography
Janusz Gajos is a Polish film, television and theatre actor. He was born on 23 September 1939 in Dąbrowa Górnicza and graduated from the National Film School in Łódź in 1965. He made his screen debut in 1964 while still a student.
Gajos is known for roles including Mikołaj in Krzysztof Kieślowski's Three Colors: White (1994), Michał in Decalogue IV (1989), Major Gross in The Pigs (1992) and Archbishop Mordowicz in Clergy (2018). He has also appeared in Andrzej Wajda's Man of Iron (1981) and Małgorzata Szumowska's Body (2015).
He has received five Polish Film Awards, the Commander's Cross with Star of the Order of Polonia Restituta (2011) and the Gloria Artis Medal for Merit to Culture (2007).
