Biography
Jaume Miravitlles i Navarra (1906–1988) was a Catalan writer, politician and journalist who also appeared in two early films by Luis Buñuel. He played the Fat Seminarist (uncredited) in the surrealist short Un Chien Andalou (1929) and a bandit (uncredited) in L'Âge d'or (1930).
Born in Figueres, Girona, he studied engineering in Barcelona and later in Paris, where he became acquainted with Salvador Dalí. His primary career was in politics and journalism, serving as Commissary for Propaganda for the Catalan government during the Spanish Civil War and writing extensively in Catalan, Spanish and English.
