Biography
Jay Daniel was a television and film producer. He worked as producer on the ABC series Moonlighting (1985–1989), directing four episodes of the show, and as co-producer on the 1988 feature film Clean and Sober. He later produced episodes of Roseanne (1990–1994) and served as executive producer on Cybill (1995–1998) and other series.
Daniel began his career after graduating from Oklahoma State University and attending graduate school at UCLA. He worked as an assistant director on series including The Brady Bunch and Police Story before producing television films and specials in the early 1980s. He received Primetime Emmy nominations for outstanding drama series for Moonlighting in 1986 and 1987.
Daniel died on 27 May 2026 in Tarzana, California.
