Biography
Jean Carson (28 February 1923 – 2 November 2005) was an American stage, film and television actress. Born in Charleston, West Virginia, she trained in music and dance and began performing as a child. She attended Carnegie Mellon University and appeared on Broadway in the late 1940s and early 1950s, earning a Theatre World Award for her role in Bravo! (1948).
Carson is best known for her television work, particularly recurring appearances on The Andy Griffith Show (1960) as Daphne, one of the "fun girls", and as Jalene Naomi Connors. She played Cassie in the 1955 film The Phenix City Story and appeared in episodes of The Twilight Zone (1959), Perry Mason (1957) and other series, as well as films including I Married a Monster from Outer Space (1958) and The Party (1968). She retired from screen work in the early 1980s but remained active in local theatre.
