Biography
Jean Champion (9 March 1914 – 23 May 2001) was a French actor. He was born and died in Chalon-sur-Saône, Saône-et-Loire.
Champion appeared in around sixty films between 1962 and 1996, frequently in supporting roles. His credits include Cléo from 5 to 7 (1962), The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964) as Aubin, Muriel, or the Time of Return (1963), Le Cercle Rouge (1970), Day for Night (1973) as Bertrand, the producer, The Phantom of Liberty (1974), Mr. Klein (1976), Coup de Torchon (1981) and Guardian Angels (1995). He worked with directors including Agnès Varda, Alain Resnais, Jacques Demy, François Truffaut and Jean-Pierre Melville.
