Biography
Jean Constantin (9 February 1923 – 30 January 1997) was a French singer, songwriter and composer. Born in Paris, he wrote numerous songs that became popular hits for other artists, including the lyrics for "Mon manège à moi" sung by Édith Piaf and the music for "Mon truc en plumes" sung by Zizi Jeanmaire.
He also composed several film scores. His most notable contribution was the original music for François Truffaut's The 400 Blows (1959). He composed scores for other films including Bonjour sourire! (1956) and La marraine de Charley (1959).
