Biography
Jean d'Eaubonne was a French art director and production designer. Born on 8 March 1903 in Talence, Gironde, he was trained as a painter and sculptor before entering films as an assistant to Lazare Meerson in the late 1920s. He worked on more than 100 productions between the early 1930s and the early 1970s.
He collaborated with Jean Cocteau on The Blood of a Poet (1932) and Orpheus (1950). Other notable credits include production design on La Ronde (1950), Casque d'Or (1952), The Earrings of Madame de... (1953), Touchez Pas au Grisbi (1954) and Lola Montès (1955). He received an Academy Award nomination for art direction on La Ronde.
