Biography
Jean d'Yd, born Paul Jean Félix Didier Perret, was a French actor. He appeared in numerous films from the silent era through the 1950s, often in supporting roles, and also worked in dubbing and on stage.
He trained and began his career in the theatre, performing at the Théâtre de l'Odéon from 1911. His film credits include The Smiling Madame Beudet (1923), Napoleon (1927) as La Bussière, The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928) as Guillaume Evrard, The Devil's Envoys (1942), and Les Misérables (1958) as Father Mabeuf.
He was the father of actors Claude d'Yd, Ginette d'Yd and others, and grandfather of actor Didier d'Yd. He died in Vernon, Eure, France.
