Biography
Jean Galland was a French actor. Born in Laval, Mayenne, he appeared in more than one hundred films and television productions between the early 1930s and the late 1960s.
He is known for supporting roles in The Earrings of Madame de... (1953) as Monsieur de Bernac, Le Plaisir (1952) as Ambroise, Lola Montès (1955) as the private secretary, Wooden Crosses (1932) as Capitaine Cruchet and Christine (1958) as Baron Eggersdorf. He also featured in archive footage in The Image Book (2018).
Galland trained in law and began his stage career after the First World War, performing with Jacques Copeau’s troupe at the Théâtre du Vieux-Colombier before entering cinema. He was married to the actress Germaine Dermoz.
