Biography
Jean Gehret (10 January 1900 – May 1956) was a Swiss actor and director. Born in Geneva, he appeared in several films directed by Jean Renoir in the early 1930s.
His acting credits include the role of Monsieur Dugodet in La Chienne (1931), Vigour in Boudu Saved from Drowning (1932) and Émile Michonnet in Night at the Crossroads (1932). He also had a bit part in Madame Bovary (1934). From the mid-1940s he worked as a director on films including Le Café du Cadran (1947), Tabusse (1949), Orage d'été (1949) and La Loterie du bonheur (1953).
