Biography
Jean-Jacques Tarbès was a French cinematographer, screenwriter and occasional actor. Born in Lourdes in 1933, he began working in film in the early 1960s and continued until his death in Paris in 2000.
He is credited as director of photography on the documentary Chronicle of a Summer (1961), directed by Jean Rouch and Edgar Morin. His other notable credits include The Swimming Pool (1969), Borsalino (1970), Two Men in Town (1973), Flic Story (1975), My New Partner (1984) and My New Partner II (1990). He frequently collaborated with directors Jacques Deray and Claude Zidi, and was sometimes credited under the names Justin Lenoir or Jérôme Baltard.
