Biography
Jean-Paul Alphen (1911–1993) was a French cinematographer and camera operator. Born in Paris, he worked in the French film industry from the early 1930s, contributing to several productions directed by Jean Renoir.
He served as camera operator on The Rules of the Game (1939) and as cinematographer on La Marseillaise (1938) and Life Is Ours (1936). His other credits include camera work on L'Atalante (1934) and later films such as The Illegals (1947).
