Biography

Jean Rabasse is a French production designer and scenographer. Born in 1961 in Tlemcen, then part of French Algeria, he began working in film in the early 1990s after a background in stage design.

He has collaborated extensively with choreographer Philippe Decouflé and the DCA company, creating sets and objects for theatre, circus productions and the 1992 Albertville Olympic opening ceremony. His film credits include production design on The City of Lost Children (1995), for which he received a César Award, Vatel (2000), Asterix and Obelix Take On Caesar (1999), The Dreamers (2003), Jackie (2016) and Climax (2018). He was also nominated for an Oscar for Vatel.
