Biography
Jean Rouch was a French filmmaker and anthropologist. He directed and appeared in Chronicle of a Summer (1961), made with Edgar Morin.
Rouch worked for over sixty years, primarily in Africa, and is associated with the development of cinéma vérité. His other credited films include The Mad Masters (1955) and The Year 01 (1973).
