Biography
Jeananne Crowley is an Irish actress and writer. Born on 18 December 1949, she has worked extensively in Irish theatre and in British film and television.
Her screen credits include the role of Julia in the 1983 film Educating Rita, Nellie Keene in the BBC series Tenko, and Princess Vena in the Doctor Who serial Timelash (1985). She has also appeared in The Onedin Line, Reilly, Ace of Spies, The Clinic and Proof. A veteran stage actress, Crowley was a member of the Royal National Theatre in London in the 1970s and appeared in productions at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin from 1972 and the Gate Theatre. She has written plays, one of which was performed at the Royal Court Theatre, and contributed journalism to newspapers including the Sunday Times, The Observer, The Guardian and the Irish Times.
