Biography
Jeanie Drynan is an Australian actress. She studied at the Edinburgh College of Speech and Drama in Scotland and trained at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Australia, graduating in 1961. Her career began in the early 1960s with roles in Australian film and television.
Drynan is known for her performance as Betty Heslop in the 1994 film Muriel's Wedding. Other notable credits include Don's Party (1976), the television series Prisoner (as Angela Jeffries) and Class of '74, and Soft Fruit (1999). She has received three Australian Film Institute Award nominations: for Best Supporting Actress in Don's Party (1977) and Muriel's Wedding (1994), and Best Actress for Soft Fruit (1999).
