Biography
Jeanne Cooper was an American actress. Born Wilma Jeanne Cooper on 25 October 1928 in Taft, California, she died on 8 May 2013 in Los Angeles.
She began her career in the 1950s with guest roles in series including Perry Mason and The Twilight Zone (1959), in which she played Miss Smith. Cooper is best known for portraying Katherine Chancellor on the daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless from November 1973 until her death, becoming one of the longest-serving actors in American soap opera history.
She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and won Daytime Emmy Awards, including a lifetime achievement award in 2004. Cooper was the mother of actor Corbin Bernsen.
