Biography
Jeffrey Hayden (1926–2016) was an American television director and producer. Born in New York City, he began his career in the late 1940s as a production assistant and associate director at NBC and ABC, directing early colour specials and live dramas for series such as The Philco Television Playhouse.
Hayden directed episodes of numerous television series from the 1950s to the 1990s, including The Andy Griffith Show, Leave It to Beaver, Batman, Ironside, Quincy, M.E., Knight Rider, Magnum, P.I. and Cagney & Lacey. He also directed the feature film The Vintage (1957) and served as executive producer and director on the daytime serial Santa Barbara. He was married to actress Eva Marie Saint from 1951 until his death.
